This

By now he weighs over 1 pound

At almost 3 weeks old he is getting a wee bit more independent and starts to find new ways to sleep.
I do believe this is his favorite position.
He
even learned how to sleep under his blanket that he has had since birth.
(It's really a towel but we won't tell him that.)
Alex loved the yellow bunny to snuggle up to when mom was away.

Alex is 6 weeks old now and the past two weeks have been full of discoveries and adventures. Rosie has weaned him and lets him know he can no longer nurse off her by making low sounding growls when he tries to suckle. He is starting to learn he can jump all over his mom and play with her as long as he doesn't try to nurse.
The following pictures were taken over a two week period between 4 and 6 weeks old.

Between 4 and 5 weeks old Alex is learning what soft toys are and is starting to shake them and carry them around, he is getting his baby teeth now so the soft toys against his gums feels good.

Alex grabs a snack from his mom when he can catch her laying down. He is starting to eat dog food and drink goats milk now so he doesn't demand as much from Rosie.
At 5 weeks Alex started getting more freedom running around in the house, his first encounter with the older dogs was priceless and I am glad I had my camera handy to get these great pictures.
Alex's first reaction was to be submissive and let the older dogs sniff him and give him a few kisses to let him know they won't hurt him.

Alex than rolled over on his side to test the dogs a little further, this is another submissive position to let them know he isn't a threat to them.

Ben, my 4 month old puppy, made the first move towards friendship.
The black blob is my Poodle Casey who stands by to make sure little Alex isn't hurt. If Ben had made any threatening moves towards Alex than Casey would have stopped him.

Alex and Ben play like this several times a day now, they have become best friends and of course Casey is always standing by to make sure little Alex doesn't get hurt.

At almost 6 weeks old Alex meets my Granddaughters and I think the pictures tell the whole story. They played for about 30 minutes and Grandma had fun taking all these pictures. Victoria is the oldest at 5 and Trisha is 2, both children have been taught from early on how to be around puppies and dogs and soon they will have a litter of puppies at their house to watch grow up.

Alex is now 8 weeks old and having the time of his life
He discovered this kitten bed and it has become one of his favorite things to play with, next to Yellow Bunny of course.
He did end up flipping it on top of himself and suddenly the kitty bed was moving on all over the place with Alex under it, I had such a great time watching all this take place.

Getting Ready For His Trip To Miami
At 7 weeks I put a crate in his puppy pen and put 'Yellow Bunny' in the crate with him, this is the best way to get him used to sleeping and eating in a crate and he took to it right away.

If you look way in the back you can see a couple of feet sticking up while Alex was taking a nap on his back.

Alex has decided this crate thing isn't so bad
"Ahhhhh, what a great nap I had."
A little sleepy eyed but still just as cute as ever.

Alex Is Packing His Bag
"I have to get my blankie in, it has been with me since I was born."

"Maybe if I move Yellow Bunny than my blankie will fit."

"Now I have to get the lid closed but I can't get Yellow Bunny all the way inside."

"Boy is this hard work. I might have to ask for help."

"Maybe I will take a little nap and than I will try again later."

Alex says good bye to all his friends

"I am the luckiest puppy in the world to have so many friends want to watch me grow up. I promise to continue to be a good puppy and grow up to become one of those wonderful Gaelic Pride dogs. Maybe my new owners will send pictures of me from time to time so you can see how I turn out."
"I am going to miss all my friends, but I am sure I will make new friends as I continue to grow, so bye bye for now and lots of puppy kisses for everyone."
